Last Saturday there was miraculous weather in Seattle. Summer had begun. (Unfortunately it's been cold and rainy since, but that's off the point). What a perfect day for a suprise super-hero birthday party! At least that's what the Wilsons were thinking as they donned their super-apparel for Staten Hansen's Birthday party. Luckily we had plenty of Bat-gear laying around the house!
Staten's wife Jihan was the mastermind of the affair. The highlight was an inflatable American Gladiator style jousting ring set up in Downtown Bellevue Park. Ginny wasted no time in testing it out.
So after some "Happy Birthday to You," a great lunch (Thanks to Jihan these looked like catered boxed lunches even special ones for the kiddos too), and socializing the bloodsport got underway: man-to-man, no holds barred, to the death, mortal combat-type pillow-jousting.
The last one standing enjoyed the immortal glory, all others cowared in shame! Here's Bri and Jihan in a very candid and completely unposed picture of the action.

That looks totally fun! How creative! I wish we lived closer and could do all these fun things together with our kids.
